The Dead Sea is the lowest point on earth sitting at 1,378 ft (420 meters) below sea level. It's the one with all the salt (6 times saltier than the ocean). And the one with nothing living in it (hence the name). We took advantage of the warmer air down at the Dead Sea and checked out all of the nice hotels along the shore. We didn't actually get in the water this time - still a little cool for that, but it was a great day sightseeing and checking out the scene.
This is a sign from the Marriott hotel on the way down to the water.
The pool at the Marriott (you can actually pay to use the pools and the private beaches at the different hotels.
The water is really pretty - and the rocks shown here are completely covered with salt!
It was a little hazy - or else you could see the Israeli coast across the way!
