Noah 3 Months

Noah has been learning a lot of new tricks lately. How to suck his thumb, how to stick his whole fist in his mouth (that's his party trick), oh and he half-way rolled over! It would have been a complete roll if he had just gotten his leg over. We're working on it.

Here are just a few recent pictures....

This is what he looks like most of the time these days. Thumb in mouth.

At our Easter cookout

Easter 2010

We like to get out of the city occasionally and enjoy the country side while it's green. Believe me, in a few months there will be not a bit of green seen around these parts. Note to potential visitors - visit in the Spring.

For our Easter celebration this year we took of to the area of Mt Gilead for a cookout. It was gorgeous. And of course, we couldn't have an Easter celebration without some animals joining in (remember the camel rides from last year's cookout?). A herd of sheep walked through our gathering, kicking up plenty of dust and sheep hair. Lovely. But the kids had fun. They got to touch the sheep - and we didn't bring hand sanitizer. And what are sheep without a shepherd, equipped with a cell phone? Hey, you gotta stay connected.

Yes, that's the shepherd on his phone.

Green!!

Our friend Jesse - too cute.

Middle East Marathons - not your average foot race

Last weekend Daniel ran his first half-marathon. The race was run along the highway to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. We were thinking it would be all down-hill, but we were wrong. Good thing there was plenty of entertainment along the way to keep the spirits up. But not the kind of entertainment you might expect to see at a marathon. I mean, I've heard of fun (can the word fun really be used to describe a marathon?) marathons where there are live bands playing every mile. This race was a little different.

I really wish Daniel had carried a camera like a lot of the runners I saw along the drive down to the finish line. That way he would have been able to capture all of the things crossing the road in front of him as he ran. Like a bedouin woman leading some goats. Or a man and his camel. Yep. Just your average site on your average road in the Middle East.

I'm proud of my hubby for the great job he did on his first race!

Is it me, or is this guy running the wrong way?

A picture taken from the car while sitting in some bumper to bumper traffic on the way down to the finish line.

Noah was so proud!
